Good behaviour is rewarded by generous donors

Langaville – Top learners from the Menzi Primary School received food parcels on Wednesday morning.

These learners ranged from top performers from each grade, to those who have shown exceptional behaviour over the year and those from the foundation phase and intermediate phase who always voluntarily take the lead in song when it is daily school assembly.

“We don’t just want to look at the needy children, but want to focus on those who are hard working and who take the lead when the need arises.

“This is an initiative that is made possible by family and friends (Jerry Motlakeng, Sipho Mndebele, Thabile Mndebele, Thobile Mnguni, Dumisani Mndebele and Ntombifuthi Motlakeng) and it is just to reward and encourage the learners to continue working hard everywhere they go as they never know who might notice them,” says Ntombifuthi Motlakeng.

She adds that they are also doing the same donation at the Langaville Primary School.

The learners who received the food parcels at Menzi Primary School include Nobuhle Mgcina, Nhlanhla Gquka, Sinqobile Mkhwanazi, Njabulo Cuco, Lungile Tshabalala, Amohelang Moloi, Bongiwe Zwane, Andisiwe Sekese, Kwanele Mtshali, Thandeka Mazibuko, Karabo Rakwena and Refilwe Chauke.

School principal Ndumiso Mnguni says that as a school, they don’t just provide education, but they take care of the welfare of the community and their children.

“This is not just about academics but also about rewarding those children with good morals and values.

“It is also a form of encouragement to our learners for next year, as it will be others who might get selected for a similar reward,” he says.

This is our way of following our values as an institution,”

he says.
