Land claims mobile office will be in Duduza

Kwatsaduza – Community members of Kwatsaduza and areas around Ekurhuleni are invited by the Regional Land Claims Commissioner for Gauteng to lodge a land claim at a mobile lodgement office visiting the area.

The legislation provides an opportunity for individuals and communities who were dispossessed of their rights to land after 1913 as a result of racially biased laws and practices, and who missed the initial cut-off date of December 31, 1998, to lodge claims.

The mobile lodgement office will be at the Duduza Multipurpose Centre in Mandela Drive from November 30 to December 2, and at the Duduza Taxi Rank in Nala Street from December 3 to December 5.

The office is open from 9am to 5pm.

Documents required:

  •  Certified copy of South African green bar-coded identity document or smart ID card.
  •  Signed letter authorising you to act on behalf of your family or community, signed by two witnesses (power of attorney) if you are acting on behalf of your family or community.
  •  A list of people you represent.
  •  A written decision from a community meeting, signed by the person who facilitated the meeting, if lodging on the behalf of community (community resolution).
