Different churches come together to pray

Duduza – A Prayer Day was held at the Duduza Stadium on Saturday by different religious groups from various areas.

According to Reverend Solly Ngwenya, the purpose of the event was to launch the Coalition of Ministers Council.

It was also to pray for a number of issues, including the high number of accidents and crime that takes place over the festive season, the unity of different churches, climate change, education, the community and police working together, the writing of exams and drug abuse.

“We have different churches, which are part of the council, from KwaThema, Duduza, Thokoza, Tembisa, Daveyton, Voslorus and Tsakane, among other areas.

“And, as religious leaders, we felt it was important for us to come together and pray, minister and worship with our communities.

“Our people are facing a lot of issues, hence we need to come together, and pray and ask for healing for our troubled societies,” says Ngwenya.

He adds that they will be moving around to different areas locally and to various provinces taking this same prayer to all nations.
