Masango dies after long illness

Duduza - Fikile Meriam Masango died last week Wednesday, at her home in Duduza, following a long illness.

Masango was born on November 1, 1972.

She started her schooling years at Siziwesethu Primary School where she stayed until she finished Grade Five.

She then went to Duduza Higher Primary School where she completed Grade Six.

Following this, Masango moved on to N.N Ndebele Secondary School where she started Grade Seven.

She stayed at the school until she completed her matric in 1996.

As a teenage, Masango’s love for music led her to sing for the Abantwana Bothando Church Choir at Saint Agenes Apostolic Church.

Afterwards, she moved on to join the Spiritual Healers Gospel Singers.

She worked temporary jobs for the IEC, working as a warehouse clerk.

Masango leaves behind two children, Simphiwe and Sphiwe Ngwenya, her partner Phillip Ngwenya, one brother, Thabo Moloi, three sisters, Mabongi Chapole, Nomthandazo Myeza and Zaza Moloi, and her mother, Mantombi Moloi.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, at Church Hall on the corner of Nala and Letsapa streets, Duduza.

The service will start at 7am and the cortege will leave for Vlakfontein Cemetry at 10.30am.
