Help new CPF executive tackle crime in Tsakane

Tsakane – The Community Policing Forum (CPF) of Tsakane has a newly elected executive commitee.

According to the team, the new executive was elected on August 22 and started occupying the office the same day.

“As the CPF, our role is to assist in providing a peaceful process between residents who need to resolve disputes as sometimes they come to the police station to complain, but don’t always need to open a case.

“We help in creating good relations between the police and the community.

“In addition, we create awareness campaigns on crime-related issues and hold meetings with the community.

“When we see crime taking place, we also help in reporting it to the police,” says deputy chairperson Mncedisi Somyo.

The new members of the executive are as follows: Sonto Mlotshwa (chairperson), Mncedisi Somyo (deputy chairperson), Ntombi Mabaso (secretary), Buti Moladira (deputy secretary), David Mkhatshwa (treasurer) and Mandla Nkosi (public relations officer).

The team also has eight additional members who serve in different portfolios: Themba Sindane (Youth Desk), Sizokele Nhlapho (Victim Empowerment Centre), Shuzelle Brown (justice), Keogile Moleko (health), Brian Radebe (sector coordinator), Anna Tsotetsi (education), Nhlanhla Magwera (Men’s Forum and patrollers) and Busi Nkomo (home affairs).

“As the new executive, our term will last for five years.

“Since we are working in assisting the community and the police in the fight against crime together, we hope that the community will help us in fighting this epidemic,” says Mandla Nkosi, public relations officer.
