Comunity members get active

KwaThema - Gym Tym aerobics and Ekurhuleni Sports and Recreation partnered to promote wellness and health in the community by hosting free aerobic marathon classes on Saturday at Bulithando Park.

This initiative rotates around Kwatsaduza and Daveyton, and community members are welcome to participate free of charge.

Aerobic instructor Kgotso Maba (34) says in order for people to maintain a good lifestyle it is imperative that they include exercise in their daily routine.

“We want to promote healthy living in our communities and teach people about the importance of taking care of their bodies,” says Maba.

He adds that he was impressed by the number of people who came to support this initiative and was even more shocked by the people walking past who came to join the aerobic session.

Resident Lerato Mabuya (38) says this is a good way for community members to exercise and have fun at the same time.

“Having fun is the most important thing when you are exercising and aerobics is the best way to keep your body fit and have a good time too,” says Mabuya.

On Thursday to celebrate Heritage Day, Gym Tym will host another aerobic session in Tsakane at Faranani Hall in Mojadji Street.
