Ntokozweni Primary School trio take second position in EMS Olympiad

KwaThema - Three Grade Seven learners from Ntokokweni Primary School have placed second at the district level of the Economic Management Sciences (EMS) Olympiad.

The trio started the competition at cluster level, on September 10, where they snatched first place.

They proceeded to the district level on September 21 and obtained position two.

According to deputy principal, Thembi Mpanza, who also teaches Grade Seven EMS, they had nine learners from their school participating in the competition at cluster level .

The learners were placed into groups of three.

The learners who excelled and managed to get first place are Lisa Mthembu (12), Ntokozo Buthelezi (12) and Tholakele Malinde (13).

These three learners then moved onto to compete in the district level, where they came in second place.

“Some of the topics the learners dealt with involved budgeting, poverty issues, and needs and wants, as the children were tested on work they had done from term one to three.

“It was a great performance and they did well, so we are extremely happy and proud of them,” says Mpanza.
