Pastor prays for drug addicts

Tsakane - To fight drug abuse, Pastor Musa Ndima, from Tsakane, believes that prayers are also needed.

The Tsakane pastor has made it his responsibly to motivate nyaope addicts through God’s Word.

He gathers more than 30 young people from different sections in Tsakane who take nyaope, talks to them about the consequences and advise them to go for detoxification.

Ndima says after he noticed that many young people are getting involved in drugs which later destroy their future, he knew that he needed to do something to help them.

He says what breaks his heart is the fact that some of the addicts are willing to stop taking drugs, but they do not receive enough support from their families.

Ndima adds that his plans to help the addicts include helping them to find their purpose in life before and after going to the rehabilitation centres.

“Some of the addicts told me about the big dreams they have about changing their lives,” says Ndima.

He reveals that some of them want to become pastors, pilots and even engineers.

To keep the unemployed addicts busy, they will soon start a vegetable garden, which will help them to earn an income, to enable them to provide for their families.

Bongani Mashiane (30) takes nyaope and says he wants to quit the drug.

He appeals to families and communities to support those who want to beat drug abuse.
