According to the Springs police spokesman, Captain Johannes Ramphora, the incident happened on Tuesday at around 3pm.
He says the suspect (39), who was separated from the deceased, handed himself over to to the police claiming that he had stabbed and killed his wife.
The victim was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.
Ramphora says the suspect, who also had stab wounds on his thigh, was arrested and will soon appear in the Springs Magistrate Court for murder.
The cause of the fight is still unknown.
