Primary school learners receive school shoes

Tsakane - Community member Amos Selabi (49) donated 12 pairs of school shoes to learners from three different primary schools in Tsakane on Tuesday.

The recipients, from Shadrick Mbambo Primary School, Michael Zulu Primary School and Mandlethu Primary School, were identified by their class teachers.

Lindiwe Dhlamini (50), a teacher at Shadrick Mbambo Primary School, says community members like Selabi are needed to assist learners who don’t have school uniforms and necessities.

“We have learners who come from disadvantaged backgrounds and the little help they receive goes a long way, that is why we need more community members who will show generosity to such learners,” says Dhlamini.

Selabi expressed that he wants to donate more shoes and school uniforms to many other schools around Tsakane because it pains him, as a father and community member, to see children going to school not dressed in full school uniform.

“We need to assist the many children who are less privileged in our schools and community so it boosts their self confidence when they are with their peers,” says Selabi.
