Women engage through dialogue

KwaThema - Resident and pub owner Hlubi Legodi (48) hosted a Women's Dialogue Session at Njengu Street in KwaThema in celebration of Women's Day.

The celebration was to honour and thank women for the continuous contributions to their families and the communities in which they live.

Women in attendance were entertained with poetry, music and motivational talks about different issues.

Legodi says it is important that all women celebrate the day because it recognises the hard work and dedication of women to be taken seriously as members of the community.

“We, as women, need to learn to celebrate ourselves on a daily basis because we have come a long way in achieving our rights,” says Legodi.

Guests had the opportunity to share their life experiences and to learn from each other.

Fiky Mngoma (30) explained that women gathering together and exchanging ideas is a great way for them to form relationships and to know each other socially, spiritually and in a business sense.

“Women need to learn to uplift themselves and discuss ways of enriching their lives, and it should not only be in the month of August but on a regular basis,” says Mngoma.
