Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora says on Saturday, a 17-year-old girl was walking on the street with her boyfriend at around 3am when they were approached by the three suspects.
Ramphora says the suspects pointed a firearm at the boyfriend and forced the girl to go with them.
“They took her next to the railway line where they raped her,” says Ramphora. Adding that the suspects then fled the scene.
No arrest has been made and an investigation into the rape and kidnapping is underway.
