Rapist nabbed in KwaThema after a year

KwaThema - An alleged serial rapist, estimated to be 30 years old, was arrested in KwaThema on Friday.

According to EMPD chief superintendent, Wilftred Kgasago the suspect was arrested at around 1pm after being on the run for a year.

He says the suspect was arrested by the EMPD officers and members of KwaThema community police forum.

Kgasago explains that it is alleged that the man, who is suspected of being involved in three rape cases in KwaThema, used a firearm to intimidate his victims.

“A-16-year-old victim identified the suspect,”says Kgasago.

He appeared in Springs Magistrate Court on Monday.

He was denied bail the case was postoned and is expected to appear again on August 11.

KwaThema police could not confirm the incident.
