Beauties crowned in Kwatsaduza pageant

Kwatsaduza - On Saturday residents flocked to the Tsakane Community Hall to witness the crowning of Miss Kwatsaduza.

In their bid to be crowned as Miss Kwatsaduza, more than 10 young women graced the stage with their talent, beauty and intelligence. 14 teen beauties competed for the title of Miss Teen Kwatsaduza and four young modellers vied for the honours in the Miss Pre-Teen Kwatsaduza division.

Lungile Mabena (17), was honoured to be announced as Miss Teen Kwatsaduza but said the competition was not easy.

Lungile explained that being crowned Miss Teen Kwatsaduza brings her more responsibility to work for the benefit of disadvantaged Kwatsaduza residents.

During her time as Miss Teen Kwatsaduza, Lungile plans to start a poverty alleviation programme which will focus on widows and orphans in Kwatsaduza.

“Many widows in the townships feel neglected and orphans do not get enough love and help from the community,” said Lungile.

She will also visit schools to motivate the youth to follow their dreams and to never give up until they get what they want.

Lungile’s dream is to compete in Miss SA one day.

“I know that I have the confidence, respect and the looks which will make me win Miss SA in the future,” said a determined Lungile.

Zanele Dlamini (11) was crowned as Miss Pre-Teen Kwatsaduza.

An excited Zanele said she plans to spend more time with senior citizens during her beauty reign.

Zanele believes that every young person has a talent and encourages them to search for what they are good at and strive to ensure that they fulfill their dreams.

Miss Kwatsaduza 2015 is Marilyn Ndlovu (24).

She said she is excited about her achievements and promised to represent Kwatsaduza everywhere she goes.

Marilyn also has the interest of the community at heart and said she plans to work with different charities in Kwatsaduza.
