Kuso gives back to the community of KwaThema
KwaThema - Kutlwano Social Organisation (Kuso) donated 80 blankets to children at the KwaThema Stimulation Centre, on Saturday.
The organisation has been celebrating Mandela Day by making donations to residents in Kwatsaduza and surrounding areas, including Springs, since 1999.
Kuso chairman Dali Mofokeng says the organisation is doing all in its power to ensure that it assists the families and individuals within the communities who need help.
He explains that, on Saturday, the organisation not only donated to the children at the stimulation centre, but also donated clothes to those at Tholakele Centre of Hope, in KwaThema.
“We believe that it is everyone’s responsibility in the community to help others,” says Mofokeng.
He adds that the donation is also another way to revive the friendship that the organisation has with the centre.
On Mandela Day, the KwaThema police also gave back to the children at the centre by providing them with lunch.
Speaking on behalf of the centre, founder Mirriam Mndebele thanked Kuso and the police for celebrating the day with the children at that centre.
She says the blankets brought a smile to the faces of the children.
Mndebele then thanked all the companies which have helped the centre through different donations they make to it.
W/O Peter Tebeila, from the KwaThema police, says the police also saw the need to give back to the community which they serve.
“Sharing and celebrating with the community is one of the ways to create a relationship between the police and the community,” he says.
He concludes by encouraging the community to help each other to ensure a better life for all.
