Soup kitchen needs help to continue feeding the poor

Tsakane - A local soup kitchen is struggling to feed the many disadvantaged residents of Tsakane and has appealed to the community for help.

The Twin Plug Soup Kitchen has been in existence for two months and is now battling to feed the more than 40 people who depend on it for something to eat before going to bed.

According to one of the founders of the soup kitchen, Siboniso Sibiya, members from the Twin Plugs organisation have been using their own money to buy food to ensure the soup kitchen continues to feed the poor in Rockville Section.

“Many families are headed by children, while others have no source of income,”says Sibiya.

He explains because of the lack of funds, the soup kitchen is forced to serve supper on Tuesdays and Thursdays only.

Sibiya appeals for assistance from anyone who can help.

The organisation is situated at 32135 Phumulani Street, Tsakane Extension 12.

Contact Siboniso on 078 712 4709 or 073 889 1820 for more information.
