Sibeko gets eight years for culpable homicide

Duduza - Zakhele Sibeko (36) was found guilty of culpable homicide, last Thursday, by the Nigel Regional Court.

Duduza police spokesman WO Yakub Rasool says Sibeko dragged a 29-year-old victim with his Isuzu bakkie after the victim allegedly attempted to punch him, on December 20.

The victim was later freed by Sibeko and fell under the bakkie, which drove over him.

He was declared dead on the scene.

Sibeko was sentenced to eight years imprisonment and was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.
