Station tests residents’ patience

Tsakane - Residents of Nzima Street in Tsakane Extension One are fed up with the driving school trucks and vehicles that park in front of their gates as early as 4am in the morning.

Resident Susan Tsoari (63) claims she hasn’t gotten any rest since the Tsakane Customer Care Centre opened a licence testing station in the area.

She has gone to great lengths and placed large stones in front of her yard to ensure no trucks and vehicles park there.

“I’m woken up every morning by the numerous trucks and people making a noise outside my house,” says Tsoari.

She claims her neighbours and herself have been to the customer care centre to lodge complaints, but were met with a rude response.

“The Tsakane CCC manager did not take us seriously, saying there is nothing they can do,” says Tsoari.

Residents are also angered by the many people who litter outside their yards.

Triphina Mokoena (54) says she has given up trying to clean her yard because it gets dirty by midday with all the littering.

“We can no longer continue like this as residents, something must be done,” says Mokoena.

Tsoari also claims her gate was recently bumped by a truck and she couldn’t do anything about it because she didn’t see the incident or the person responsible.

The Tsakane CCC manager, Lorraine Mokgatle, could not be reached for comment at the time of going to press.
