Young people celebrate Youth Day

Tsakane - In celebration of Youth Day on Tuesday, Ubuhlebokumazi Traditional Dancers gathered the young people of Tsakane to showcase their talents.

The Youth Day event was held at the Tsakane Hall, and young people were also educated about the importance of the day and motivated to fight the challenges they face.

John Shabangu, event organiser and chairman of Ubuhlebokumazi Traditional Dancers, says the event was aimed at ensuring young people celebrate the day by doing what they’re good at.

“They have the power to change the world through their talents,” he says.

The dance group will continue to celebrate Youth Month with young people from the township to educate them about the country’s history.

He challenged the youth to fight for what they believe will better their lives in the future.

“The youth of 1976 stood up for what they believed in and their fight brought freedom for the youth of today,” he says.

Speaking on behalf of Love Life, Mxolisi Zwane from Tsakane encouraged the youth to use education as a weapon to fight against unemployment and poverty.

He appeals to the youth not to celebrate the day by engaging in activities which might land them in prison.

“It is the their responsibility to continue fighting for what will positively benefit this country and to take it to a better tomorrow,” says Zwane.
