According to Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora, the incident took place at around 6pm in Sugarbird Road.
He says the complainant was at the gate waiting for his friend to leave when he noticed two armed men approaching them.
The complainant and his friend ran back to the house.
“The suspects also ran into the house and found the complainant’s daughter and her mother, and forced them to switch off the alarm,” says Ramphora.
The robbers fled the scene with a TV.
No arrests have been made and police are investigating a case of house robbery.
