Resident Sarah Yende likened the equipment to a free gym.
“I am very excited because it shows the government is taking health and fitness very seriously,” she says.
“We are encouraged as community members to keep fit on a daily basis.”
Ward 80 councillor Dora Mlambo says the Department of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation is promoting health and fitness, and encouraging the community to take care of themselves.
Mlambo says the equipment is there for all members of the public.
“People who can not afford to pay for gym membership can now use the equipment in the park to stay fit,” she says.
