Love Life spreads the word about teenage pregnancy

Tsakane - Members of Love Life distributed condoms and pamphlets containing information about HIV and teenage pregnancy to parents and the youth of Tsakane Extension 15 last Friday.

Speaking on behalf of all Tsakane Love Life branches, Thabisile Dlamini says the outreach was aimed at ensuring the community has information on how to prevent teenage pregnancy and HIV.

With June being Youth Month, Dlamini says they want to pay more attention to the challenges faced by the youth in the country.

She adds that because their job is to ensure that young people are free from HIV and avoid teenage pregnancy, they will visit schools to talk about teenage pregnancy and safe sex practices.

During June, Love life will host youth festivals and debates to give parents and children the opportunity to talk about issues affecting them.

“It is true that children do not talk openly to their parents about some of the challenges they come across, and we believe that the debate sessions will help them understand each other better,” says Dlamini.

She says on June 16, Love Life will host a fun walk to recruit more young people to join them.

The walk will start along Phalane Street in Rockville Section at 10.30am, and will end in Tsakane Extension 15.
