Emmanuel jets off to USA

Langaville - Emmanuel Mogafe (32) has been selected to attend the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders Summit in the USA.

The Langaville Extension Eight resident will be one of 40 young South Africans who will represent the country at the summit in New York and Washington.

He did his primary school education at Gorogang Primary School in KwaThema and attended high school at Laban Mothlabi Secondary School.

Mogafe is an international relations graduate from the University of Pretoria.

He also holds an honours degree in public administration and a masters degree in governance from Wits University.

Mogafe explains the summit is aimed at giving young African leaders more information in business entrepreneurship, public administration and civic engagement.

“I am one of the 500 young Africans who were selected from thousands of young people from the continent who applied to be part of the summit,” says an excited Mogafe.

He says he expects to learn more about public administration so that he can share his knowledge with other young Africans.

Mogafe encourages the youth to use the opportunities presented to them by the government.

The summit will be held in New York from June 18 until August 1. From there it moves to Washington, where it will be held from August 2 to 6.
