DJ Sbu motivates learners
KwaThema - Sibusiso 'DJ Sbu' Leope visited Phulong Secondary School today (Wednesday) to motivate the learners.
Learners dared not miss the opportunity to listen to the well-known DJ, radio and TV presenter, and entrepreneur.
Leope’s visit was also aimed at educating the Grade 12 learners about the importance of applying for admission early at universities.
He visits township schools because he believes learners need words of encouragement to push them to a brighter future.
Leope motivated the learners to take education seriously and to not allow their backgrounds to stand in their way of success.
“I was born and raised in the township, and today I am respected and seen as a role model by many young people,” he says.
“I did not allow my circumstances to prevent me from fulfilling my dream.”
Leope encourages learners to work hard to achieve their dreams.
“I know many young people want to be in the entertainment industry, but I advise you to get an education first before getting into the industry,” he says.
Leope challenged the Grade 12 learners at the school to attain a 100% pass rate this year.
“I believe that you were born clever and that you have the power to achieve anything you put your focus on,” Sbu concludes.
