Gogo dies after allegedly being dropped by paramedics

KwaThema - Sixty year old Thembi Mkaza was allegedly dropped by paramedics and died at the Pholosong Hospital on Sunday at about 7.30pm.

The deceased’s sister Malishoane Mkaza, claims she witnessed Thembi being dropped by the paramedics outside her home in Didishe Street.

She claims the paramedics did not secure her sister to the stretcher.

Mkaza alleges when she questioned the two men on duty, they claimed Thembi only sustained minor injuries.

She further claims the men showed no remorse for what they did

“My sister was sick and we called the ambulance to rush her to hospital,” says Malishoane.

“We trusted the service and they have disappointed us.”

She adds she accompanied Thembi to hospital in the ambulance, and when they arrived, the nurses noticed Thembi was severely injured.

Spokesman of Ekurhuleni Emergency Services William Ntladi says the matter is being investigated.
