The man was arrested at around 2am, when police officers patrolling in Motlaping Street noticed a car driving erratically along the road.
KwaThema police spokeman Capt Mandla Phori says police stopped the car.
The driver, who was not alone in the vehicle, was tested for driving under the influence.
“He was found to be over the limit and was immediately arrested,” says Phori.
He was taken to the KwaThema police holding cells and will appear in the KwaThema Magistrate Court soon on a charge of drunk driving.
