Load shedding affects citizens

Load shedding is a challenge faced by millions of citizens around the country.

With mid-year exams just around the corner, however, Grade 11 and 12 students are the ones who will suffer the most.

Eskom’s media desk says the decision to introduce load shedding is painful and not taken lightly.

The company says it is a measure of last resort to protect the national power system.

Eskom understands the negative impact that load shedding has on businesses and the daily lives of the citizens.

A concerned parent from Duduza, Nomusa Dube (47), says she lives in fear of how children will study to for their mid-year exams since load shedding will not be ending any time soon.

“Children need their Grade 11 mid-year marks to register for university,”says Dube.

She advised parents to have alternative light sources available for their children.
