Education MEC pleads for children to return to Zamani Primary School

KwaThema- Gauteng Education MEC Panyanza Lesufi was in KwaThema yesterday to address the issues at Zamani Primary School.

This follows a protest by some school learners’ parents last Monday, where they complained about alleged mismanagement at the school.

The parents allege the principal has failed to address various grievances and are concerned about the lack of productivity at the school.

Several meetings between the concerned parents and the School Governing Body of Zamani Primary School have since taken place, but parents are still dissatisfied.

At a meeting with parents at the Holiness Church, Lesufi promised the problems will be resolved by Monday.

He pleaded with parents to stop protesting outside the school and disrupting learning.

“Children must to go to school as from tomorrow,” he said.

Another meeting is scheduled for Sunday at the school hall.

Parents were pleased to hear that steps are being taken to address their grievances.
