Nine children treated for shock after accident

An accident between a minibus and a bakkie caused the driver and his nine passengers to be taken to the Far East Rand Hospital (FERH) for treatment today.

The driver of a bakkie made a U-turn in Accra Road, Reedville at 6.55am, when it collided with a minibus.

According to EMPD officials, there were nine primary school children in the minibus.

Paramedics treated the driver of the minibus on the scene and transported him and his passengers to the FERH.

FERH spokesman Hendrik Buda confirms that the children and the driver are at the hospital.

He says the driver is being treated for minor injuries but the children only suffered shock and were treated accordingly.

“The children are just fine as they are dancing in the passage,” he adds.
