Hole poses danger to the community
KwaThema - The community at Goede Beste section in KwaThema is worried about a giant hole which poses a danger to the lives of their children in that area.
According to ward councillor Wilson Busakwe the hole that is not far from the KwaThema graveyard has been in existence for two years.
He says this scary hole was dug by a man who claimed to have had a dream that there was underground wealth in that area.
“The man said he was sent by his ancestors to that area to dig in the name of finding wealth which he can share with many generations to come in his family,” says Busakwe.
However, the hole is now posing a treat to the lives of the children who play next to it everyday.
Busakwe says the hole which is full of filth and water is not only a treat to the safety of children, but has had all the residents of that area worried.
He continues to say that not long ago, community members found different candles, incense and small, black plastic bags around the hole.
“We fear that there might be people who perform their rituals next to that hole,” Busakwe says.
Busakwe promised to report the matter to the metro so that the hole gets closed soon.
A 55-year-old shepherd, Mandla Mthembu who passes hole everyday when taking his cows to the grazing field confirms that the hole poses a danger to the lives of the children who play there.
