Cool sounds of jazz
Daveyton - Mass Soul Jazz band performed a breathtaking show at Silverlakes on Sunday evening.
The band showcased their versatile talent and played mostly soul, smooth jazz, fusion and RnB.
The five members of the group are Vuyane Zwane (singer), Benvolio Malumane (pianist), Nzonzo at Frans Marule (bassist), John ‘Pablo’ Seotlolla (trumpeter) and Walter ‘Jazzman’ Kotu (drummer).
The members studied at the Music Academy of Gauteng, in Daveyton, and have travelled throughout Africa where they played with a variety of bands.
Band manager Enos Machethe says the band was formed last year, and the musicians originally played in different bands.
Machethe says they are still introducing the band to the public and will be opening a recording studio soon.
“Every band member is a music teacher who wishes to share their talent with other aspiring artists” concludes Machethe.
