KwaThema police get medals for fishing

Two KwaThema police officers were part of the Freshwater Angling Competition held last Thursday.

W/O Willie Bosch and W/O Frik ‘Sgantsontso’ Reynders came home with silver medals.

The competition in which the police officers took part takes place annually.

This year’s competition was held in Pretoria where police officers from all the provinces took part.

Speaking about this year’s competition W/O Reynders, who has been fishing since 1996, said the competition was not easy and that his team did its best to get second position.

He said a few of the challenges that they were faced with was the state of the water in the dam which they had to fish from.

Reynders said fishing is one of his passions and that he is ready to train interested young stars.

“Fishing is a sport and it will give me peace to know that I have trained the youth to ensure that this kind of sport does not die,” said Reynders.

In September Reynders will be taking part in another fishing competition to be held in Bloemhof.

He encourages anyone who is interested in fishing to follow his dream and he also invites everyone interested in this kind of sport to join his development team.
