Dlamini wins against his attacker

A businessman from KwaThema says he is happy that justice has been served after six years of going to court.

Joseph Dlamini was allegedly attacked while he was busy at a function in KwaThema in 2008 where he delivered catering goods.

He alleged that a member of the family who hosted the function had a personal grudge against him.

Dlamini explained that he was at the function when he needed to go back home to fetch something, and the man attacked him with a screw driver.

“I suffered severe injuries on the head and right eye,” said Dlamini.

Adding that since the incident, his life changed.

He said after the incident, he felt undermined and lost his dignity as he was attacked in the presence of the community members including children.

Dlamini’s attacker who pleaded guilty on August 27, 2008 was found guilty on September 3, 2008 for assault.

However, Dlamini opened a civil case against his attacker.

Last Monday, Dlamini left the Springs Magistrate Court a happy man after his attacker was instructed to pay him for the damages caused to his dignity and eye.
