According to the metro’s spokesman, Themba Gadebe the affected areas will be Extension five, eight and 11 and will take place on Monday (March 2) between 8am and 5pm.
He says the interruptions are due to the major maintenance work that the metro will conduct in that area.
“The municipality has deployed a team of technicians to concurrently carry out the repair works at Mampuru Street and Zulu reservoir,” said Gadebe.
He adds the technicians will be replacing a faulty 160mm valve pipe at Mampuru Street while the other technicians will connect a new 250mm pipe from the water reservoir at Zulu Street.
Residents are encouraged to store water for domestic purposes while repair works are being carried out.
Gadebe said the metro apologises for any inconvenience to be caused.
