Police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora says the arrest came after they received a tip off from the community informing them of the three suspects who were in possession of drugs in the Springs CBD.
The police waited for the car outside the CBD, as it was travelling to Mpumalanga, and searched it.
“One of the three suspects was found in possession of 74 packets of nyaope and was arrested.
Another two suspects were arrested for possession of drugs in another incident.
Ramphora says two suspects were also arrested after they were found with 100 packets of nyaope in their possession.
Two suspects were released on a R1 000 bail each while the other suspect was released on a warning after a brief appearance in the Springs Magistrate Court on Tuesday.
