Police warn pensioners

The Springs police warn pensioners not to be the victims of robbery.

This comes after several complaints by the community of KwaThema and Springs about the woman who has robbed pensioners of their money.

Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora says the suspect claims to work for Ekurhuleni Metro and promises pensioners to get them money.

“The woman demands a cash amount of R1000 from her victims in the name of getting them the money owed to them by the factories and companies that they worked for,” says Ramphora.

He says the woman then disappears with the cash.

“Do not give money to anyone who promises to get you a job or claims to get you the money owed to you by the company that you worked for years ago,” Ramphora concludes.
