Volunteer Jabu Yende and Thabo Moshwea, from the Moral Regeneration Forum with Community Safety wake every morning and help hundreds of children and elderly people at Vlakfontein Road crossing from Langaville to KwaThema.
Yende explains he began helping the children last year January after he witnessed a car accident involving a child who passed away.
Thabo says ever since he began there have been no accidents at Vlakfontein Road during the hours he has worked there and the parents are now at ease with their children’s safety going to school.
He pleads members of the public to adhere to the rules of the road and adults to be an example to children by passing on pedestrian crossings for their safety too.
