The Department of Parliamentary Constituency hosted a poverty alleviation campaign on Thursday at KwaThema Hall.
Young and old gathered in numbers at the KwaThema hall to listen to the idea’s the department had for them to escape poverty.
Secretary, Catherine Mphongose says the initiative was developed to inform people about the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE).
She says that a lot of people are under informal stokvel’s that do not follow the legal steps they should follow such as having a constitution in the stokvel which protects the funds of the members.
Mphongose says the idea is to teach people from Kwatsaduza how to save money and generate capital that will sustain them by investing it with correct institutions and not find themselves involved in pyramid schemes.
