Gogo needs help

While other senior citizens have the freedom to see their neighbours and enjoy the sun, life is not the same for gogo Jennifer Mthunzi (66) from Tsakane.

Gogo Jennifer Mthunzi’s condition has forced her to remain inside her house for five years.

When she experienced pain in her knee she thought it was just because of her age, not knowing that it was the beginning of her misery.

Gogo Mthunzi couldn’t walk because of this and her condition worsened when she also started to experience swollen thighs, which made her unable to leave her bed.

She lives with her children and grandchildren who look after her.

Gogo depends on her family to go to the toilet because she can’t walk.

“When my grandchildren are at school and my son is at work, I can’t go to the toilet,” said Mthunzi.

She says that she feels like a prisoner in her home.

Mthunzi said she misses the fresh air and to feel the sun on her skin.

Because she wants to ensure that she can continue to use her hands, Mthunzi wishes to find someone who will give her easy training sessions for her arms and legs.

She also needs a wheelchair in her size.

“The wheelchair that I have is too small and I need a bigger wheelchair that will fit me,” said Mthunzi.
