Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora says the two robbers entered a supermarket in Bakerton at around 5.30am on Thursday and pretended to be customers.
He says one of the suspects left the supermarket after he bought a braai pack, leaving the other inside.
“The suspect came back with two other suspects who were armed with firearms and demanded cash,” says Ramphora.
Adding that one shot was fired by the suspects before escaping from the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and airtime vouchers.
No one was injured and the police are investigating a case of robbery.
