One of two suspects was handed into the Springs police station by the EMPD officers.
Captain Johannes Ramphora of the Springs police says the suspects robbed a 12 year old boy of his cell phone on January 9.
Ramphora says the arrest happened after the boy screamed for help alerting a man who then chased after the suspects and managed to catch the one who was in possession of a cell phone.
“The man stopped an EMPD vehicle to transport the suspect to the Springs police holding cells,” says Ramphora.
The police are investigating a case of common robbery and are still looking for the second suspect.
Anyone with information on the suspect should contact the Springs police on 011 365 5700/19/20.
