According to resident Anna Maseko the area was a dumping site then the municipality cleaned it up and built a fence around the area.
She says the area is now clean with well-maintained grass, yet she can see no activity on the grounds.
Ward Coucillor Mavumbi Ivy Nkosi says the area next to the church should be a park and the area before that is already used as grounds by youngsters in the area.
Nkosi explains that there are children playing on the grounds during the week and weekends.
She urges community members to make a petition for resources so the area can be officially opened.
