The incident took place last Tuesday at about 11.30pm.
According to Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora the victim was asleep inside his shack when he heard a noise outside.
He says the victim then woke up to investigate and saw four suspects cutting the chain that he used to lock the shack to gain entrance.
“The suspects entered the shack and demanded cash,” says Ramphora.
They fled the scene with R50, a DVD player and groceries.
No arrest has been made yet and the police are investigating a case of house robbery.
