House robbery suspect arrested in Bakerton

The Springs police are looking for one of two house robbery suspects in Bakerton yesterday (January 4).

Captain Johannes Ramphora of the Springs police says two suspects who were armed with firearms threatened to hurt the six victims if they do not open the door for them.

The victims who were awakened by the suspects at around 3.15 am feared for their lives and five of them ran and locked themselves in one of the rooms.

Ramphora says the one victim opened the door and the suspects demanded cash from the victim.

“The police were called and managed to arrest one of the two suspects who was found with three cellphones belonging to the victims,” says Ramphora.

A case of house robbery was opened at the Springs police and they are still looking for the other suspect.
