Geduld supermarket robbed

A case of business robbery was opened at the Springs Police Station yesterday (December 23).

It is believed four robbers entered a supermarket at 6.50pm, and demanded cash and cigarettes.

Captain Johannes Ramphora, spokesman for the Springs police, says two of the robbers were armed with firearms and a knife.

He claims the owner of the shop was assaulted by the robbers and one of the shop employees was stabbed in the buttock with a knife.

An ambulance took him to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Ramphora says the robbers ran away with R1 000 in cash and cigarettes to the value of R1 500.

No shots were fired.
