Security at Tsakane Mall this December

"Tsakane Mall has its security geared up and ready for the festive season," says marketing manager, Pearl Sekgobela.

She says the resident security is vigilant and there will be extra security on site with the assistance of the Community Police Forum (CPF) members who will be assisting at the mall to ensure the safety of those who will be doing their shopping at the mall.

Areas such as the parking lots, passages leading to the bathrooms and the back of the mall will be fully monitored at all times, including at night.

“With the police station a few metres away from the mall, any suspicious cases detected will be acted upon quickly and pro-actively,” says Sekgobela.

Shoppers need to be aware of the following

n Be aware of bank followers as they pretend to be clients at the bank while watching people who withdraw cash and follow to rob them as they leave the mall.

n Avoid withdrawing large amounts of money alone, always have someone accompanying you.

n Do not be attempted to pick up money lying on the ground as it is the trick that the criminals use to get close to their victims and rob them.

n Always ensure that your purse or wallet are not exposed.

n Children should not be sent to the malls alone.

n Do not fall into a scam of a half-price purchase as no purchases are done outside the store and without a legitimate cash slip or receipt.

n Do not talk to strangers.

n When driving out of the mall, always be on the look-out for cars that follow you and drive to the nearest police station or call the police.
