Bakerton business robbed

A man and his brother were in their shop at 1.30pm, yesterday (December 16) when five men entered.

It is claimed they pretended to be customers.

One of the five men pulled out a gun and another a knife.

Captain Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the man with the gun pointed it at the victims.

It is believed he ordered them to lay down or they will be shot.

Ramphora says the five men assaulted the victims and fired a shot before leaving the shop.

The owner of a neighbouring shop came to investigate when he heard the shot and found the shop owner’s brother wounded in his arm.

The robbers too airtime, cellphones, cigarettes and cash.

No arrests have been made.
