Uniting Presbyterian Church donates groceries.

The United Presbyterian Church in Rapodile Street, KwaThema, hosted a thanksgiving day fundraiser on Sunday.

They donated groceries worth R2 500 to underprivileged members of the church and Tholakele home in Kwatsaduza.

The foster home looks after 20 orphans from six months to 17 years of age.

Vice president of the Uniting Presbyterian Women at Work (UPWW) Cecilie Dlangamandla, says the church discovered the home before Women’s Rights day this year then donated clothing during the year.

President of the UPWW, Rose Moleko says: “We are practising what we preach as the Bible in Psalm 103 chapter 4 says: Lord do good to those who are good and to those who are upright in heart.”

She says we should thank the Lord by giving back to the community not just with our mouths but with our hands too.

After the church service the members of the congregation went to the home.

They donated groceries, sang a few church hymns and spent quality time with the children.
