Community educated about different illnesses

The community of Kwatsaduza was recently educated about various illnesses.

The education that was held at the Christ Ambassadors Church in Blue Gum View, Duduza, was organised by the Christ Ambassadors Church and the department of health and social development.

The aim of the education was to bring awareness concerning illnesses that are affecting the communities.

Residents were educated about illnesses such as TB, HIV/Aids and diabetes.

Community members also got the opportunity to be tested for many kinds of diseases.

On the day, the health officials shared information on how to prevent, get treatment when diagnosed and emphasised the importance of giving support to the sick people within the community.

“Everyone needs to take care of his health by ensuring a visit to a doctor to get tested,” said Gloria Khalakhu from the health department.

Bishop Andile Madiba Tila encouraged people to stay healthy and have all the information that they need to prevent and fight against any sickness that they suffer.

He said the church is committed to collaborating with the department of health to provide spiritual intervention and motivational support to those who need it.

He added that the church has started a training programme to encourage community members to stay healthy.

He says the training sessions are held between 7am and 8am and again from 5pm until 6pm at 584 Mayibuye Street in Bluegum View, Duduza.

These training sessions are free of charge every Monday to Friday.
