EFF is still going strong

The Addie contacted Siyabonga Tonga, the sub-region's co-ordinator after reports hit the media on Friday that there was a split in the EFF.

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Springs and Kwataduza is not divided.

Tonga says the EFF was solidly united in Springs and Kwatsaduza and they were busy delivering what they promised their voters.

He says proof of the party’s growth is all the branches the party has established in the area.

“There are only three or four branches left to be formed,” says Tonga.

The report on the apparent split was from Sapa and posted on several websites.

It stated that disgruntled EFF member, Wouter Sentimile, a former EFF regional co-ordinator in the Free State, had formed the New Economic Freedom Fighters on August 29.

He was apparently disgruntled about the fact that the EFF members “lied” to the people they represent.

The Sapa statement further says the break-away’s cause was that the EFF members of parliament were not supposed to take from government and that Sentimile was not happy with the EFF’s “practices”.
